Preliminary Task

Part 1

This task was about capturing images of an object in different angles, without moving the object which is set in a neutral background. Here is a contact sheet where I attempted to take close up shots of this image without knowing what the unit was about or the purpose of this photo shoot.

Some additional images taken after:

I like these images because the background is very much neutral. It looks as though it's taken in the studio for still life however, this image is taken on a desk. The main idea was changing the focus on the object.

I like this image the most because the focus is bang on the foreground and you can see lots of details on the twists and turns. The image is slightly tilted and the background is nice and neutral. It was taken under artificial lighting, which created this shadow below the object which makes it more 3-D looking.

Part 2

The continuity of this task required us to use this object and focus on location. We had to make the object fit in with the location which was challenging because I chose a loom-band so it took a lot of improvisation to do so. We had to take selected images indoors and outdoors and the weather that day was poorly which made things worst. In the end, I came out with these results.

Here is an example of trying to fit the object with the location. In this case, the library had books based on arts and craft, and the title of this book linked with the object because a loom-band is made by hand. The focus on this image is pretty strong because the typography for 'by hand' is a lot sharper than the subheading.

Part 3

This image was created on Photoshop to give this 3D illusion using these images. This was by overlapping layers to make it look loopy.

I also created one by hand which is on paper, this was also similar to this loopy effect. It was easier to cut and stick, & my outcome looks like a spaceship made out of loombands.
